Spooky Ice Cube Ingredients

Ingredients
To create your Spooky Ice Cubes, gather the following ingredients:

2 cups pomegranate juice (freshly squeezed or store-bought)
1 cup mixed berry compote or jam (you can use store-bought or homemade)
Candy eyeballs (available at most candy or craft stores)
Ice cube trays

Optional for Decoration:
Additional pomegranate seeds (for extra texture)

Spooky Ice Cube Instructions

Step 1: Prepare Your Compote
If you’re making homemade berry compote, combine 1 cup of mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries) with 2 tablespoons of sugar and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice in a saucepan. Cook over medium heat for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally until the berries break down and the mixture thickens. Let it cool before using.

Step 2: Fill the Ice Cube Trays and Freeze
Start by pouring a small amount of pomegranate juice into each compartment of your ice cube tray. Fill them about two-thirds of the way and freeze until solid. This base layer will provide a beautiful color to your Spooky Ice Cubes.

Step 3: Add the Compote
Next, add a dollop of your berry compote to each compartment. This step creates a surprise flavor explosion when the ice cubes melt into your drink. Make sure to leave some space at the top for the final layer.

Step 4: Insert Candy Eyeballs
Place one candy eyeball into each compartment, gently pressing it into the compote. The eyeballs will float to the top as the juice fills the tray, creating a spooky effect.

Step 5: Complete with Pomegranate Juice
Pour more pomegranate juice on top of each compartment until they are nearly full. This will encase the candy eyeballs and compote, creating the perfect spooky surprise.

Step 6: Freeze
Carefully transfer your ice cube tray to the freezer. Allow the Spooky Ice Cubes to freeze for at least 4-6 hours, or until completely solid.

Step 7: Serve and Enjoy!
Once frozen, remove your Spooky Ice Cubes from the tray and drop them into drinks of your choice—think festive punch, cocktails, or even non-alcoholic beverages for the kids. As the ice melts, your drinks will take on the vibrant flavor of pomegranate, complemented by the berry compote, and the candy eyeballs will add a whimsical touch!

Tips for Perfect Spooky Ice Cubes
Experiment with Flavors: While pomegranate juice is a delicious choice, feel free to use other fruit juices like cranberry or grape for different flavors.

Layering: For an added spooky effect, consider layering different colored juices or using different types of compote.

Presentation: Serve your Spooky Ice Cubes in clear glasses to showcase their eerie beauty.
These Spooky Ice Cubes are a fun and flavorful addition to your Halloween celebration. With their delightful combination of pomegranate juice and berry compote, along with the playful touch of candy eyeballs, they are sure to be a hit. Embrace the spirit of Halloween and make your gatherings unforgettable with this creepy-cool treat!
