DIY Caipirinha Bar
The Brazilian drink caipirinha is about to get a makeover with this fun DIY bar.
One week until all eyes are on Brazil and it’s time to start planning your viewing party. A fun way to spice up your cocktail menu is by offering your guests a DIY Caipirinha bar.
I’m sure some of you are wondering what’s a Caipirinha?
Caipirinha is the national drink of Brazil, our host country for all the athletes this summer. It’s a sweet, lime cocktail that is the perfect base for any variety of mix-in’s and purées. Stir up a big batch then let your guests get creative.
The fun doesn’t stop with Rio. A Caipirinha bar is a great addition to any picnic, backyard BBQ or outdoor party. All you’ll need is a pitcher or beverage dispenser, and some imagination.
Take advantage of summer’s fresh produce, by puréeing fresh fruits, or mixing them in whole. Sugar rims can be fun, or add some festive straws and paper umbrellas to bring a little whimsy to your party. We made a blueberry purée, a passion fruit purée, a strawberry purée and a mango-pineapple purée then mixed in fresh raspberries, blueberries, and pineapple.
Make a Caipirinha bar that’s fun for the whole family by omitting the cachaça or rum from the basic recipe for a kid-friendly version.
