3 Breakfast Smoothies

Tropical Turmeric Smoothie

This vibrant tropical turmeric smoothie is sunshine in a glass. Bursting with frozen mango, pineapple, and banana, it’s naturally sweet and incredibly refreshing. The ground turmeric adds an earthy warmth and anti-inflammatory benefits, while a splash of lemon juice brightens everything up. A pinch of black pepper activates the turmeric for maximum health benefits. It’s the perfect way to fuel your morning with a dose of vitamins, antioxidants, and tropical flavor. Effortless to make and endlessly satisfying, this smoothie tastes like a vacation while delivering serious nutritional benefits.

Serves: 1 (approximately 12 oz)

Ingredients

  • 1/2 frozen ripe banana
  • 1/2 cup frozen diced mango
  • 1/2 cup frozen pineapple chunks
  • 3/4 cup full fat coconut milk, plus more to thin as necessary
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • Pinch of ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons fresh grated ginger

Method

Blend:

Add all ingredients to a high powered blender: frozen banana, mango, pineapple, coconut milk, turmeric, black pepper, ginger, lemon zest and lemon juice. Blend until completely smooth, adding more coconut milk to thin if necessary. Pour into a glass and enjoy immediately.

Recipe notes: The pinch of black pepper is essential—it activates the curcumin in turmeric, making it more bioavailable and increasing its anti-inflammatory benefits. Don’t skip it, though you won’t taste it in the final smoothie. Full fat coconut milk gives this smoothie an extra creamy, luxurious texture. For the best texture, make sure all your fruit is frozen. Store any leftover smoothie in the fridge for up to 24 hours and give it a quick stir before drinking.

Chocolate Coffee Smoothie

This chocolate coffee smoothie is the perfect way to start your day with a boost of energy and nutrition. Packed with creamy soy milk, rich cacao, and a hint of coffee, it tastes indulgent but is secretly loaded with good-for-you ingredients like cauliflower and tahini. The frozen cauliflower adds incredible creaminess without any vegetal flavor, while the dates provide natural sweetness. It’s versatile, effortless to make, and endlessly customizable—whether you want it extra chocolatey or need a quick protein-packed breakfast on the go.

Serves: 1 (approximately 16 oz, easily doubled)

Ingredients

  • 3 large Medjool dates, pitted
  • 1/2 cup soy milk, cold
  • 1/2 cup cold brew or leftover cold coffee
  • 3/4 cup frozen cauliflower
  • 1/2 frozen banana
  • 1 tablespoon tahini, at room temperature
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons cacao powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method

Blend:

Add all ingredients to a high powered blender: pitted dates, soy milk, cold brew, frozen cauliflower, frozen banana, tahini, 1 tablespoon cacao powder and vanilla extract. Blend until completely smooth, adding more soy milk to thin if necessary. Taste and add another tablespoon of cacao powder if you want a deeper chocolate flavor. Pour into a glass and enjoy immediately.

Recipe notes: For the creamiest texture, use cold soy milk straight from the fridge. The frozen cauliflower is key to achieving that thick, frosty consistency—don’t skip it or substitute with fresh. If you don’t have cold brew on hand, regular leftover coffee works perfectly. Make sure your tahini is at room temperature so it’s easy to measure and pour—cold tahini can be thick and difficult to work with. This recipe serves 1 generously, but it’s easy to double for 2 servings. Store any leftover smoothie in the fridge for up to 24 hours and give it a quick stir before drinking.

Raspberry Ripple Smoothie

This raspberry ripple smoothie is a gorgeous blend of sweet and tangy flavors that looks as beautiful as it tastes. Layered with vibrant raspberry and creamy yogurt swirls, it’s reminiscent of classic raspberry ripple ice cream but packed with wholesome ingredients. The hemp hearts and full fat Greek yogurt provide natural protein and healthy fats, making it satisfying enough for breakfast while keeping it refreshing. Easy to make with frozen fruit and endlessly customizable, this smoothie is perfect for busy mornings or as a post-workout treat.

Serves: 1 (approximately 16 oz)

Ingredients

For the raspberry banana base:

  • 1 cup frozen raspberries
  • 1 medium frozen banana
  • 1/2 cup soy milk, chilled
  • 1/4 cup full fat Greek yogurt
  • 3 tablespoons hemp hearts

For the yogurt ripple:

  • 3 tablespoons full fat Greek yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon honey, optional

Method

Blend the base:

Add the frozen raspberries, frozen banana, soy milk, full fat Greek yogurt and hemp hearts to a high powered blender. Secure the lid and blend on high speed until completely smooth.

Prepare the yogurt ripple:

In a small bowl, stir together the Greek yogurt and honey until well combined and smooth.

Create the ripple effect:

Using the back of a spoon, spread the yogurt mixture along the inside of your serving glass, creating vertical streaks from bottom to top. Press the spoon against the glass and drag it upward to create long, thin ribbons of yogurt that will form the ripple pattern. Don’t worry about making it perfect—the streaks will naturally swirl when you add the smoothie.

Add the smoothie:

Slowly pour the raspberry banana smoothie into the center of the glass. As you pour, the smoothie will naturally push against the yogurt streaks, creating beautiful swirls. Use a spoon or straw to gently swirl once or twice if you want to enhance the ripple effect, but avoid over-mixing or you’ll lose the distinct pattern.

Serve:

Serve immediately for the best taste and texture. The ripple effect looks beautiful through a clear glass.

Recipe notes: To make this recipe vegan, swap the full fat Greek yogurt for coconut yogurt (both in the base and the ripple) and replace the honey with agave nectar. For a sweeter smoothie, add a teaspoon of honey or maple syrup to the base. The yogurt ripple creates a beautiful visual effect and adds extra creaminess. If you want a more pronounced ripple, you can add an extra tablespoon of yogurt to the ripple mixture. Hemp hearts add protein, healthy omega-3 fatty acids, and a subtle nutty flavor without overpowering the fruit. Using frozen fruit eliminates the need for ice and creates an extra thick, creamy texture. Make sure your soy milk is chilled for the best consistency.
